Second time in, slower. Three days on foot along the Kumano Kodo, cedar forest in mist, a village inn, the vermilion pagoda above Nachi Falls. Then Kyoto in July, moss gardens before the heat, matcha in Uji, and the Gion Matsuri floats hauled through the streets at night. Travelled with friends, shot between meals.
