Event photographer for the room and everyone in it.

Overview

Coverage that follows the run sheet.

An event does not wait for a photographer to find the light. The work is knowing where the moment is going to happen before it does: the keynote, the handshake, the room at capacity, the award going up. That comes from reading the run sheet properly beforehand, not from chasing the room on the day.

Conferences, launches, awards nights, activations and brand events. Full coverage of the speakers and the stage, the candid floor and the room itself, plus the sponsor and signage frames the marketing team is going to be asked for afterwards.

Same day files are available when the event is being posted while it is still running. Say so when you brief and a first selection goes out during or straight after the event.

Venues

A dedicated event day gallery is being built. In the meantime the conference and activation films on Events and Conferences are the closest look at how a live room gets covered.

Coverage

What comes back from an event.

01

Stage and speakers

Every speaker covered properly, wide for the room and tight for the face, shot without a flash firing into the audience.

02

The room at capacity

The frames that prove the event was full, taken at the point in the night when it actually was, which is rarely when the run sheet says.

03

Candid floor

Conversations, networking and the moments between sessions. The images that make next year's event look worth attending.

04

Sponsors and signage

Branding, banners, activations and sponsor moments, shot deliberately so the post event report has what it needs.

05

Same day selection

A first cut delivered during or immediately after the event for socials, with the full set to follow on the standard turnaround.

06

Video on the same day

A second shooter or a video pass can run alongside the stills, so the recap edit and the photographs come from one booking.

Questions

The things people ask first.

How quickly do I get the photos?

Same day for a first selection when the package includes it, which is what most launches and conferences want for socials. The full edited set follows within 5 to 10 business days.

How is event coverage priced?

By the hours that need covering, not by the day. A two hour launch and an all day conference are quoted differently, so coverage is priced against the run sheet and quoted as a fixed fee before the booking is confirmed.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in Melbourne. I am based in Belgrave, which puts the eastern suburbs, the Dandenong Ranges and the Yarra Valley closest, and I work across the metro area, Mernda, the Mornington Peninsula and Geelong as standard. Regional Victoria and interstate are quoted with travel.

Do you shoot with flash?

As little as possible. Most venues can be worked with fast glass and the light that is already there, which keeps the room feeling like the room. Where flash is genuinely needed it is bounced, never fired straight at a speaker mid sentence.

Can you cover video at the same time?

Yes. Either as a second pass through the day or with a second shooter, so the recap edit and the photographs come out of one booking and one invoice.

Do you carry insurance and licences?

cASA licensed remote pilot, $20 million public liability and a Working With Children Check, all current. Certificates go to the venue or site before the booking is confirmed, without being chased for them.

How do I book?

Send through what the shoot is for and roughly when. We do a short call to pin down scope, then the proposal, contract and payment schedule all come through one client portal so nothing is chased over email.

Work together

Get the room on record.

Send the run sheet, or just the date and the venue. Coverage is quoted by the hours that matter rather than by the whole day, so a two hour launch is not priced like a conference.
