Do you charge travel into the city?
No. Melbourne metro, including the CBD, Southbank and Docklands, is standard service area and the rate is the rate. Travel is only quoted separately for regional Victoria and interstate.
Can you fly a drone over the Melbourne CBD?
Only with the right approvals, and that is the honest answer. The CBD sits inside controlled airspace and over a densely populated area, so a city aerial is an approvals job before it is a flying one. I hold a CASA Remote Pilot Licence and $20M public liability, and I will tell you up front whether a given frame is achievable or whether we get the shot another way.
Our building wants a certificate of currency and an induction. Is that a problem?
No, it is the normal ask in the city and it is already covered. $20M public liability, with the certificate sent to building management ahead of the day along with whatever induction, dock booking or permit the tower requires. It is paperwork, not a delay.
Can you shoot outside business hours?
Yes, and in the city it is usually the better call. Early mornings, evenings and weekends all work, and an empty floor photographs faster than one being worked around. Lobbies in particular are far easier before the building fills.
What does a shoot cost?
Every shoot is quoted as a fixed fee up front, against the brief rather than off a rate card. Tell me what the images have to do, where they are going and when you need them, and the quote comes back with the scope written down beside it, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
How long does a floor of thirty headshots take?
Around three hours on site with a proper setup, running a few minutes each. The setup stays up so anyone who misses their slot gets caught at the end, and new starters are shot later to the same standard so the wall never goes mismatched.
How are the images delivered?
Full resolution files through Dropbox, with web sized versions alongside them so nothing has to be resized before it goes on a site or a socials post. Commercial licensing and print rights are included, and files stay hosted for three months after delivery.
How do I book?
Send through the address, what has to be photographed and roughly when. We do a short call to pin down scope, then the proposal, contract and payment schedule all come through one client portal so nothing is chased over email.
